I have a confession - I enjoy people immensely. There, I said it. So selling my books at the Rain Taxi book fair at the Minnesota State Fair Grounds personally was an absolute party. And I was having a blast.

Since Halloween is coming, I didn't give candy away. Nope, I am a socially conscious individual and sensitive to parent's wishes and people's caloric intakes. So I went to Party City and got party favors. One of the more popular of my giveaways were the 'Bone Glasses",

One of my other many giveaways were the spider rings, they came in black and orange. This nice lady was kind enough to model the ring and glasses. She also bought a book. Oh, yeah, .0003 cent junk equals instant book sale.

Notice my awesomely cool Batman bowl. So if you walked by my table and were dumb enough to make eye contact with me, I would point to the bowl and say, "I got free creepy stuff here, want some?" You would fall under the thrall of Batman and couldn't help your self. In the interest of a full disclaimer, there were a few that could resist, but very few. Once in at the table, you got the full sales pitch. Of course, the price sign was a trick, because anyone that spoke with me, got the "I'm going to give you a deal" and then they got the real price, the cheaper price.

For the record, if Batman didn't bring them in, that poster of my book, The Final Paladin did. I got a lot of compliments on book cover of The Final Paladin.

The eyeball glasses were popular with the youngish crowd. When everything is said and done, one of the best things about writing for young audiences is the audience themselves. I really enjoy youngsters of all ages.
